The German car manufacturer Audi announced on Monday that he decided to keep his cars in American ports that arrived there after April 2, when President Donald Trump announced 25% rates on all imported cars, Reuters reported.

Audi, one of the most important brands in the Volkswagen group's portfolio, has about 37,000 vehicles, a sufficient number for about two months of sales, in its US stocks, added an Audi spokesman, according to Agerpres.

Audi is fully targeted by Trump's rates, given that his best -selling model on the US market, Q5, is produced at a plant in Mexico, and the rest of his models come from Europe or other parts.

Previously, the specialized publication Automotive News has revealed that Audi has sent a memorandum to its American dealers in which it notified that it will freeze all deliveries from April 2 to new orders.

The COX Automotive consulting company estimates that, on average, car manufacturers have sufficient stocks for about three months of sales in the US, which gives them a certain margin of maneuver until they develop a long -term strategy to respond to Trump's rates.

The directors of the car companies are about to meet in the evening with the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to discuss how to respond to American rates, in the context of European scholarships are at least 16 months, and investors are afraid of a possible global recession.
