“Mistaken message” came to Ukrainians in the USA. “Terrifying e-mail”

DHS spokesman explained that the e-mail in which Ukrainians were informed that they had seven days to leave the country was sent by mistake. He added that the program implemented after the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 was not completed. It is not clear how many people have received this message.

“If you do not leave the United States immediately, you will be subject to potential actions of law enforcement agencies that will lead to the expulsion from the United States. DHS ends your conditional release. Do not try to stay in the United States,” said Thursday's e-mail.

“It's a very scary e-mail”

Reuters cites the statement of an anonymous Ukrainian woman, who “could not breathe and control crying normally” after receiving this message. As she noted, she renewed her immigration status in August last year and was told that she was valid for the next two years.

“This is a very terrifying e-mail. All families we look after are in complete panic”-argued Angela Boelens, the president of IA Nice, cited by the agency, Non-profit organization in Iowa, which sponsored dozens of Ukrainians.
