“I can't see the TV, I can't read. I don't see the boys playing rugby and football and it was a very stressful time. It's upsetting, but on the other hand I am lucky to have the life I have,” Elton said in an interview for The Times.

Elton John took the eye infection last summer, during a vacation in France, and has been facing a single eye.

However, the artist tries to remain optimistic, supported by his husband, David Furnish: “I still have my wonderful family and I still see something with my left eye. So you tell yourself: go on.”

These problems were also reflected in a professional plane. The musician admitted that it was difficult to work on a new album with Brandi Carlile. disc “Who Believe in Angels?” was completed with difficulty, the artist acknowledging that “He was not in great form.”

A continuous fight with health problems

In 2017, Elton John was diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent surgery, after which he developed an infection that endangered him. “I was 24 hours of death,” He wrote in his autobiography, remembering the moments in which he prayed to live to see his children.

Over the years, Elton John has undergone multiple interventions-has hip and knee prostheses and has been forced to postpone her tournal Yellow Brick Road tournament in 2021 due to an operation.

However, the singer retains his humor. At the premiere of his documentary in 2024, Never Too Late, joked: “I do not have tonsils, polyps or appendix. I have no prostate. I have no right hip or left knee or right knees. In fact, the only thing that remained to me is the left hip.”
