Russia did not pay money to pensioners in Estonia. “We demand explanations”

A representative of the Russian embassy was given a diplomatic note with a request for explanations – was transferred in a statement. Estonian authorities emphasized that Russia did not fulfill its obligations under the cooperation agreement in the field of retirement insurance. From the beginning of the year to April, the Russian pension body did not make any payments to Estonia.
As a result, almost 4,000 people living in Estonia and collecting pensions from Russia did not receive the benefits due to them.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also informed that Russian pensioners living in Estonia, who affected delays in benefits, may apply for an allowance in the place of residence from local authorities, if necessary.
