At the end of 2024, Gigi Nețoiu had been announced on Voluntari's bench, but left the team after a few weeks precisely because of serious health problems.
He had taken the place on the technical bank of Ovidiu Burcă. It was Victor Pițurcă's second at the Romanian national.

Florin Marin had two short mandates as a head coach in Craiova, in 2000 and between 2001-2002.
He has prepared Dinamo twice. The first time he arrived in Stefan cel Mare in 2002, and four years later, at the insistence of Gigi Nețoiu, who was close, he returned to the “dogs” for a mandate of 11 matches.

He is a man that the world does not truly know, at his true value. An extraordinary man and I am glad that I had this honor to be my mentor. It is one of the strengths I had, to the detriment of other young people who start the job.
Florin Marin is such a modern coach in ideas and principles! It is striking sometimes … you hear Guardiola talking about certain things that this man taught us 20 and some years ago! A much undervalued man, from which Romanian football would have so much to learn.
