After the invasion of Russian drones into the Polish airspace, Poland no longer wants to be naive in Ukraine's affairs and agree that others collect political laurels and get economic contracts, while it rests the main burden of Solidarity with Ukraine – said “Berliner Zeitung”.

“After the incident involving drones, Warsaw no longer wants to be naive regarding policy towards Ukraine. Help – yes, but from now on under clear conditions and with the benefit of itself,” wrote the Berlin daily “BZ”. He emphasized that Poland no longer wants to present itself as a “naive exemplary student on numerous issues related to Ukraine – neither towards Moscow or towards Western allies.”
The newspaper reminded that Prime Minister Donald Tusk is in favor of Poland's key role in the process of rebuilding Ukraine, including through investments. Until now, attention has been paid to the huge costs of Poland related to military and humanitarian support, now Poland wants to benefit from reconstruction projects – BZ pointed out.
According to Dziennik, the new Polish attitude leads to tensions with Western partners. “US President Donald Trump-who is said to have excellent relations with the right-wing Conservative President (Karol) Nawrocki, but cool relations with liberal-conservative Tusk-he recently stated that he would not defend everyone and sanctions against Moscow only under strictly defined conditions,” the newspaper emphasized.
Warsaw no longer wants to accept the situation in which others collect political laurels and (get) economic contracts, while Poland has the main burden of solidarity with Ukraine – she added.
“BZ” defined a violation of Polish airspace by Russian drones as “an alarm signal for many in Warsaw.” The daily reminded that the Polish authorities are in favor of better preparation for similar scenarios in the future.
According to the Berlin newspaper, enabling NATO to capture Russian drones over Ukraine would create a clear precedent. “NATO would intervene directly in the Ukrainian airspace for the first time, which would be another step for Moscow in the direction of full escalation of the conflict,” noted “Berliner Zeitung”.
