“Everyone is afraid of them”: the US is preparing to deliver Ukraine 33,000 drones with artificial intelligence

Fighting drones that use artificial intelligence (AI) and can coordinate alone during a “in ROI” attack have brought the war with unmanned aircraft from Ukraine to a new level. Both Kiev and its Western allies work intensely to develop this technology with which Moscow came the first on the battlefield. The Swiss-American company Auterion, specialized in the production of such weapons, will provide Kiev this year “attack kits” with artificial intelligence drones based on a contract with the Pentagon, reports the Financial Times, quoted by the Meduza.
In the new era of the war with drones, groups of unmanned aircraft use artificial intelligence to coordinate their actions when attacking enemy positions. These groups are called “swarms”, and Lorenz Mayer, CEO of Auterion, stresses that their appearance on the battlefield is an important evolution.
“Everyone in the army talks about attacks in the roi, everyone is afraid of them, I know they will overwhelm their defense,” he told FT.
The Nemyx technology of the company that leads “transforms autonomous drones into a single coordinated fight … a resistant swarm that increases the efficiency of the operators, reduces the operators' work volume and ensures the success of the mission even in the most difficult conditions.” Nemyx, which runs on its own operating system developed by Auterion and is delivered as an application, allows any compatible drone to join the swarm with a simple software update.
The software developed by Auterion has not yet been tested in battle, but this will happen later this year as the company will deliver Kits to 33,000 artificial intelligence in Ukraine.
What do the new drones that attack “in roi” with the help of AI bring
Gundbert Scherf, a co -founder of the Rivale Helsing company in the field of advanced drones, says that the roots not only allow automation to overcome enemy defense, but also increase the attack power, because a single operator can control several drones.
In addition, he says, the newer software makes it possible to let the red tactics be lethal by training the drones. For now, a larger drone is used to send signals to a smaller drone, a technology initially brought by Russia to the battlefield. But this will be possible to change once the new technologies fed on AI will reach the battlefield.
In this area, Ukrainian companies have an advantage over the western ones, because only they have access to the vast archive of Ukraine with images with drones, which they use to train artificial intelligence.
“The unprecedented volume of battle data available for training autonomous models [în Ucraina] He became the most important component of the roe, ”said Evelina Bucharest, a manager partner at D3, a risk -based capital company in Kiev, who invests in military technology.
One of the leaders in the development of ROI technology is the Ukrainian Swarmer company. Last year, his artificial intelligence drones began to be used to place me, and are now used to attack Russia's soldiers, equipment and infrastructure, The Wall Street Journal recently reported, citing the company representatives and a high -ranking Ukrainian officer.
Different unnecessary aircraft units use between three and eight drones per operator, and Swarmer has already tested his software on 25 drones simultaneously.
