Make desires for the New Year – a sinsaid in the Russian Orthodox Church
The tradition of making desires on New Year's Eve and on Christmas has pagan roots from the point of view of Orthodox Christianity sinfulsaid Hieromonk Sergey Senchukov (Theoderite).
Instead, it is better to go to the temple for the New Year's prayer and pray for well -being in the coming year, the clergyman advised.
