CYPRUS – Romaniathe fifth party of the “tricolors” in the H group of preliminaries for the 2026 World Championship, is played this evening, from 9:45 pm, in Nicosia. The duel will be transmitted in LiveText format by GSP.ro and televised by Antena 1 and Prima TV.
The most recent test of the students of “Il Luce” ended with a categorical failure, 0-3 in the friendly with Canada. Instead, the last official match remains the victory in the tour against Cyprus, 2-0, through the goals of Florin Tanase and Dennis Man.

What did the two selections stated:
We will have a second quite difficult match against a very good team. A team that I played not for a long time and I think we know well enough, just as they know us. We come after a very good match with probably the strongest group in the group. Unfortunately, we could not achieve a positive result.
However, after this match with Austria we have been left with many good things and we have enough trust for the next matches. What we want for confrontation tomorrow is to get a positive result. Romania is not weaker than last year, and tomorrow we have real chances of winning.

The Cyprus team has changed, the new coach brought an important aspect of Greek and Cypriot football. Aggression, speed, air game are first. I use their qualities to the maximum, play with long balls and exit with the second ball. It is seen in the progress they have made, putting Bosnia and Austria in difficulty.
Cyprus has a high -value player, Kastanos. It will be a match in which they attack the man, push, create a state of imbalance. You have ours not to relax. Individual duels will be decisive. GSP Arena in Nicosia, also known as Neo GSP, is the largest stadium in Cyprus, with a capacity of 22,859 seats. Inaugurated in 1999, it serves as a house for the teams Apoel, Omonia and Olympiakos Nicosia, as well as for the national team of Cyprus. Located in the Strovolos suburb, near the A1 highway, the stadium is famous for its wavy roof and vibrant atmosphere.
