Israel's raids for purposes in Syria
Since the fall of the Syrian regime of President Bashar Al-Assad in December 2024, Israel conducted hundreds of raids to various parts of the country. The purpose of the attacks was mainly military infrastructure. The Israeli authorities claimed that they did not want to allow her to be taken over by new authorities that come from Islamist rebel movements.
The Israeli troops also occupied the buffer zone previously controlled by the UN, which from 1974 separated a part of the Golan hills captured by the Jewish state in 1967 from the rest of the Syrian territory. Israel's land forces also led rallies in the south of Syria.
Despite these activities in recent weeks, information has appeared about the intensification of the dialogue between Israel and Syria, which would lead to alleviating tensions and security agreement. American diplomacy is to mediate in contacts.
The new Syrian authorities are rushing from jihadism and declare that they want to build peaceful relationships with their neighbors, including Israel. Syria and Israel have been formally remaining since 1948 at war and did not establish official diplomatic relations.
