Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov said in an interview published on Friday that the approach of US President Donald Trump in negotiations, based on the conclusion of agreements, is “quite cynical”, but in a positive sense, reports Reuters.

In an interview with the Russian I Fakty, the Kremlin representative compared the position of the US President with that of European countries, who, says the Russian official, do everything possible to prevent a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine.

“By contrast, Trump is much more constructive. It is, in the good sense of the word, quite cynical. In terms of” why to fight if you can trade “. And based on these interests, it does everything possible to stop wars,” said Dmitri Peskov.

Vladimir Putin's spokesman claims that Russia would prefer to solve the Diplomatic War in Ukraine, rather than a military.

“And if Trump can help us to provide these political and diplomatic means, then our interests coincide here, and this can and should be welcome,” Peskov added.

In recent months, the American leader has oscillated between confident statements that Putin wants to end the war and harsh criticism of the Russian counterpart on bombing Ukrainian cities.

The constant approach of Moscow was to flatter Trump and praise his peace efforts, while accusing European governments of trying to take the process in the air.

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin had a summit in Alaska three weeks ago, and Peskov said he has no doubt that a continuation could be organized very quickly if the presidents of the two states consider it necessary. Work contacts have taken place all the time, he said.

The US president said on Thursday that he will discuss with his Russian counterpart in the near future.
