An exchange of fires in a club in Brooklyn, New York, Sunday morning, resulted in three dead and nine injured, informs the US press agency, reports News.ro.

Around 3.30, four men opened the fire after an altercation at Taste of the City Lounge, located in Clown Heights, a Brooklyn, New York neighborhood. Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the shootings seem to be related to rivalries between bands.

The wounded, between the ages of 19 and 61, were hospitalized, but their life is not in danger. A 19 -year -old man died on the spot, while two other victims, aged 27 and 35, died at the hospital. The investigators found more than 40 9 mm and 45 caliber cartridges, as well as an abandoned weapon on a nearby street.

Mayor Eric Adams has announced that teams specialized in crisis management have been mobilized to support the victims' relatives and to prevent possible reprisals. He also appealed to anyone who holds information to contact the NYPD emergency line. “This is an act of tragic and meaningless violence,” Commissioner Tisch said at a press conference.

This is the second mass attack in New York in a few weeks, in a year marked by a decrease in armed violence. On July 29, a man crossed an office tower in Manhattan armed with a weapon, hurting a person and killing four more. Among the victims was a New York police officer.

The two recent shots only strengthen “the reason why we do this work to keep weapons away from our streets,” said Mayor Eric Adams. “This is the second incident in a few weeks and we do not want this to become an ordinary practice of violence in our city,” he added.
