More and more Austrian restaurants set time limits for their guests. This solution is particularly popular in Salzburg. The reason for such decisions is the approach of customers who, by sitting for hours in the premises, often block access to other people.

Two hours – this is the limit of time in most restaurants in Salzburg Austrian. The introduction of such a restriction is related to the starting festival season. In previous years, there was a situation where guests sometimes “sought” and in this way to block the places reserved by subsequent customers. In extreme cases, newcomers had to wait for the ordered table for up to several dozen minutes.

To avoid this type of situation, restaurateurs have decided that when making online reservations, the default time limit for staying in the premises will be determined, of two hours. It is possible to extend this time, but the reservoir must clearly indicate this in the form.

Elisabeth Gruber, the owner of one of the Salzburg restaurants, admitted in an interview with ORF television that guests understand the decision of entrepreneurs and – so far – did not meet with criticism of the introduced solution. – Basically, the owner just has to earn. There are periods when it is crowded, and there are periods when traffic is smaller – said Gruber, adding that the most important criterion is the comfort of customers who are sure that the reserved table is ready when they arrive at the premises.
