JSC “PO” Electrochemical Plant “(JSC” ECHZ “, the enterprise of the fuel division in ZATO Zelenogorsk Krasnoyarsk Territory) published a report on environmental safety for 2024.
A document prepared on a voluntary basis has been published since 2009 and is addressed to a wide range of interested parties. The report presents information on the activities of the ECH in the field of environmental protection and ensuring environmental safety, the implementation of environmental policy and industrial control, interaction with state authorities, local self -government, public organizations and the population.
In 2024, the total expenses of the enterprise for environmental protection amounted to more than 518 million rubles. This includes the costs of the implementation of environmental measures, ensuring radiation safety, activity on waste management, protection and rational use of water resources, protection of atmospheric air, etc.
- The impact of the enterprise on the environment is annually maintained at a stably low level.
- An analysis of the results of control indicates a stable radiation and environmental situation, which satisfies all safety requirements for the population, personnel and the environment.
- The radiation atmosphere in the area of the ECHZ is consistent with the safe values of the gamma-pon, characteristic of the East Siberian part of Russia, 0.15 μSv/hour. This confirms the lack of technogenic influence of the enterprise on the ecology.
As part of the development of information and analytical systems for monitoring the state of the environment on the ECHS, an object automated measuring system of industrial environmental monitoring (AISPEM) is successfully operating. Its task is to ensure continuous radiation and chemical monitoring of the working zones and the entire territory of the industrial site of the enterprise, as well as the territory of ZATO G. Zelenogorsk. To date, the ASPEM is 61 control of control.

Among the large environmental projects that are being implemented at the enterprise today, the completion of large-scale construction is already the second installation for the processing of the impoverished uranium hexaffeoride-“W2-EHZ”. Entering the installation will double the capacity of the enterprise for the processing of OGFU up to 20 thousand tons per year.
There were no complaints and claims related to the influence of the enterprise on the environment and residents of Zelenogorsk in 2024.
In July 2024, the ECHZ successfully took place a reservation audit of the corporate integrated management system of JSC “TVEL” for compliance with the requirements of the ISO 14001: 2015 standard. Specialists of Internsetric LLC (Russia) checked the environmental monitoring system operating at the enterprise. The audit confirmed the compliance of the enterprise with the requirements of the international standard and Russian legislation, as well as the requirements adopted by the ECP in the field of environmental safety.
“The basis of the ECHZ environmental safety is strict adherence to the principles of corporate environmental policy and an effective system for managing environmental protection. The work of highly qualified specialists, the use of modern technologies and ensuring the necessary financing guarantee a high level of environmental safety.
