Krasnoyarsk residents painted a city map with pixel drawings on a popular international website

Krasnoyarski joined the world Internet trend and “painted” the city map of pixel drawings on the WPLAC website. In the place of Krasnoyarsk, memes, characters of anime, games and series, as well as a huge coat of arms of the region.

We are talking about the WPLace website – an interactive digital canvas. It allows any person to draw on the Google Maps map. The peculiarity is that in half an hour one can use only one color pixel anywhere in the world. Changes will be visible to all users.

The site was developed by a programmer from Brazil, but the platform quickly became international. Users from around the world, including Russians, are united into communities to coordinate their actions and create full -fledged images on the maps.

So, large pixel arts appeared on the site of all relatively large cities of Russia. Enthusiasts draw on the native streets of heroes of mass culture, depict popular Internet jokes, write the names of their favorite music groups.

The site has been working for only a few weeks, but has already become so popular that from time to time in its work there are malfunctions due to a large number of participants.
