The Ministry of the Environment prepares, together with the Ministry of Economy, a legislative initiative related to the concept of traceability in the case of used products and waste, so that the two categories are defined and separated very clearly, said Diana Buzoianu on Saturday, according to Agerpres.
“There are dozens, if not hundreds of thousands of tons, every year, entering Romania as used as used products, which, in fact, are waste. And we must solve this problem. Wastes that are waste for other European states are waste in Romania. On our fields or on the garbage pits, in the best cases.
She stated that the normative act could occur by the end of the year, mentioning that the intention is that in Romania not to become waste labeled as used products.
“We have legislation, we have solutions that could be put into practice and that is why we work these days. I hope that by the end of the year, in the worst possible case, if not even faster, to go into the Government, in Parliament, regardless of the legal-legal instrument assumed by the Government, a project, an initiative of the Ministry of the Environment, and a very Economy with the Ministry. Very clear regulatory measures on the used product area and waste. said Diana Buzoianu.
The Minister of the Environment also stated that no other waste must arrive in our country, given that the garbage pits “can only cope” at the existing quantities.
Official data: Hundreds of trucks enter Romania monthly with “donations”, photovoltaic panels or used clothes. In reality they carry dangerous waste
