The bizarre holiday of a group of Russians in Kim Jong's luxury resort. “I think I cried half flight from Vladivostok to Moscow”

North Korean leader Kim Jong has opened a resort on the coast, hoping that it will stimulate tourism, according to the reports in the state press. Located on the eastern coast, Wonsan Kalma has received her first tourists at six years since she was ready. And the only foreign visitors have been from Russia so far.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un built a real vanity parade for Russian tourists. At a relatively modest price, 190,000 rubles (2,050 euros) of a person, with a plane ticket included for eight days, the Wonsan resort promises visitors with a level of services that exceed five -star hotels, reports the Life, quoted by The Moscow Times.

The meeting of the tourists resembled the arrival of some official delegations: the Russians were received at every stop or trip as stars: with applause and tens of North Koreans. “They welcomed us with music, video cameras, songs and dances,” said Aleksei Zorin, a 42-year-old tourist from Moscow, who had previously visited the Chernobyl and the deserts of Morocco.

The first group of Russians consisting of ten people was transported from the airport with a special train, the guides sang “Katiușa”, and at the destination they were served with octopus, crabs and langustine.

“We really felt the most important people on Earth.”

Tourists had free access to JET ski and ATVs. According to a visitor, Ksenia, all their wishes were fulfilled, including at night, when an employee brought ironing, heated sheets, food, stools or portable speakers.

“We really felt the most important people on Earth,” said Anastasia Samsonova, 33, from Moscow, who returned home with a souvenir under the nuclear ogiva -shaped statue.

The hotel looked like a miniature city. According to Russian tourists, it had an water park with swimming pools, jacuzzi, saunas and slides. “It was also bowling, billiard, karaoke, about ten restaurants with all types of kitchens: European, Asian, Korean, Chinese … In addition, the hotel had hairdressing salons for men and women, massage center and swimming center,” said Daria Tarasenko, another tourist.

But despite the hospitality, the tourists did not have freedom of movement during the stay. “We could not leave the hotel without a guide, the guard did not leave us,” said Daria.

The walks in the city were short, rare and strictly organized. Throughout the stay they were allowed to go out twice, 5-6 minutes, in the column, on a designated street.

Tourists, flanked by security agents

The group was constantly accompanied by guides and security agents, which the tourists called “Kaghebists”. One of them was accompanied by the group pretending to read the newspaper.

“Local security is always present. One or two people, usually men dressed in black jacket,” a tourist recalled.

The Russians were allowed almost anything, except for leaving the complex and lack of respect for the leaders of the country. “We were asked to refer respectfully to the leaders. Let's call Comrade Kim Jong-un, Comrade Kim Ir-Sen … and if we photograph them, take them entirely in the frame, let us not cut them,” said a participant in the trip.

Also, the photography of the leaders' monuments was allowed only in compliance with a strict dress code. Daria, for example, was asked to finish all her shirt and jacket buttons. They were forbidden to smile near the portraits of the leaders, to smoke, to show their finger at them, to touch them or to have any behavior considered disrespectful. “Neither to put your hand on them, nor to show them with your finger, nor do you do something disrespectful,” confirmed Daria.

Strange incident

Alexandr Spevak, the manager of the tourist group, said that there were also strange situations. For example, for unclear reasons, some North Korean “tourists” were given swimsuits, glasses and swimming headphones and entered the water.

Among them was the guide of the group led by Spevak, who did not know how to swim and stayed in the water, attached to one of the Russian tourists.

After returning to Russia, some tourists experienced unusual reactions. Ksenia confesses: “I think I cried half a flight from Vladivostok to Moscow. And honestly, I don't know what was with me … but so much I was impressed by North Korea.”
