In Krasnoyarsk, scammers stole 4.1 million rubles from a 54-year-old engineer under the pretext of saving savings. This was reported in the regional prosecutor's office.
It all began in July 2025, She reported an audit against employees and warned that law enforcement officers would contact him.
After that, the engineer contacted a false policeman. He convinced the victim that after the data leak on his bank cards, an attempt was committed, and to protect the funds, he connected the “specialist of the Central Bank”.
“Under the guidance of an imaginary employee, the victim downloaded the application for the“ transfer of funds ”and sent money through ATMs within a few days. Each operation seemed to him the necessary “safety measure”, ”said the supervisory department.
The total amount of damage amounted to 4.1 million rubles. A criminal case of fraud has been instituted (Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Since the beginning of the year, 5,847 residents of the region have become victims of scammers. The damage caused amounted to 1.6 billion rubles.
