Summer residents were told what needs to be done with a currant bush immediately after harvesting.
According to Oilso.ru, in the Tyumen Rosselchozenter they warned that after harvesting the bushes may look painful. This is normal, because the plant gave all its strength to the formation of the crop. That is why proper care is so important.
You should start with trimming-without it, currant after 3-4 years will give less crop, and the berries are crushed. You can safely get rid of old and sick branches, as well as from branches growing inside, and those that lie on the ground. The cut is carried out as close to the base as possible, without hemp.

You also need to shed the bushes well with water: under red and white currants you need three buckets, under black – four. After that, plug the soil around the bush, otherwise the soil crust is formed, which does not pass oxygen to the roots.
To preserve soil moisture and suppress the growth of weeds, experts recommend mulching with sawdust, straw or mowed grass. At the same time, you should not use the coniferous dudes – acidification will occur.
After that, you can start top dressing: you will need phosphorus-potassium fertilizers to form new strong buds and strengthen the root system. Mix a glass of wood ash, 1st. a spoonful of potassium sulfate and 1 tbsp. a spoonful of superphosphate, dilute in a bucket of water and pour the resulting mixture under each bush.
Try to complete all care measures before the end of September, so that currants recover to the cold.
