Trump announced in an entry on his Social Social social networking site that “the complexity of the contract with Mexico differs from a contract with other countries.”

“We agreed to extend the same agreement 90 days that we had over the last short period, namely that Mexico will continue to pay 25 percent customs duties to Fentanyl, 25 percent duties on cars and 50 % duties on steel, aluminum and copper,” Trump announced.

“In addition, Mexico agreed immediately to endure numerous non -disgust trading barriers. We will talk to Mexico for the next 90 days, aimed at signing a trade agreement within 90 days, and maybe later,” he added.

Higher duties are set aside an hour before the date of their entry into force announced by the US President. Trump also suggested that he is still negotiating with other countries and additional agreements are possible at the last minute. It is still unknown what customs will be introduced on Friday and what countries they will cover.

Goods from Mexico, just like Canada, already at the beginning of Trump's term of office, 25 percent were covered. The duties, although the US President, put them into force several times and soothed them. Currently, these duties only concern the flow of goods that are not subject to the rules of the USMCA trade agreement between the USA, Canada and Mexico. This is about half of the goods.
