MZ will not improve the “situation of doctors but patients.” The medical environment thunders

Doctors are the duty target of attacks from politicians. We treat the prime minister's words as a preparation to cut remuneration to all medical profession – Jakub Kosikowski spokesman said on Wednesday PAP.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that Jolanta Sobierańska-Grenda would be replaced by Izabela Leszczyna as Minister of Health. She is a lawyer with an MBA for medical staff, a president of Pomeranian hospitals, a managing company of four hospital entities owned by the Pomeranian Voivodeship self -government.

The only goal of the health department will be to improve the situation of patients. I will also say very brutally: not improving the situation of doctors, but to improve the situation of patients – said the head of government.

In the opinion of Jakub Kosikowski, spokesman for the Supreme Medical Chamber, focusing on doctors in the prime minister's statement is reaching for the duty subject. – We have long been a target of political attacks, because against the background of medium Polish wages our salaries are high. So it's easy to accuse that public money spent on health is allocated to salaries for doctors, not for treatment. But this is nonsense – said the interlocutor PAP.

He recalled the data of the medical technology assessment agencies and the wage of doctors presented in spring this year. They show that the median value of the specialist doctor's contract is 24.6 thousand. PLN gross (data concerned September 2024). At the same time, the doctor can have several contracts signed with various hospitals. Percentage of contracts amounting to 100 to 300 thousand PLN per month is 1 percent. all such contracts connecting medics with employers – calculated the agency.

– There are currently 144 thousand in Poland. Doctors, therefore, it cannot be said that the remuneration coming in hundreds of thousands of zlotys is the reason for the current health protection collapse – emphasized the spokesman for the local government. – We treat the prime minister's words as a preparation to cut wages to all medical profession, because everything indicates that these are attempts as to the changes in the Act on the minimum wage in health care – he added.

Jakub Kosikowski announced that the medical self -government would transfer his proposals to changes in the health care system. – We will present the minister a few ideas that in our opinion would improve the situation and would be for the benefit of everyone. However, it is difficult to treat a change in the health department as a breakthrough, it is still a government of the same prime minister – he said. (PAP)
