Instead of employment, EU funds will go to defense. Poland will benefit from changes


The changes were proposed by the European Commission on April 1 this year. as part of the EU Dzierating Package. One of the elements of this package is the SAFE loan program worth EUR 150 billion adopted during the Polish chairman in the EU Council.
On Wednesday, the Danish presidency agreed with the European Parliament regarding changes in the ordinances regarding the spending of money from cohesion policy. These are the programs: the European Regional Development Fund (ERFR) and the Cohesion Fund, as well as the Fund Fund Festation (FST) and the European Social Fund Plus (EFS+).
Due to these changes, the state will be able to reprogram funds from programs from the current EU budget under the purpose “Investments for employment and growth” for “increasing the production capacity of defense sector enterpriseswithout geographical restrictions or the size of the enterprise. “

Changes are to encourage investment in EU regions, which borders with Russia, Belarus and Ukraine, i.e. in Poland. EU financing as part of programs addressed to border regions will be able to amount to 100 percent. (therefore there will be no obligation to contribute). Projects will also receive higher advances.
Not only defense and security projects will receive greater incentives, but also related to housing, access to water and water management, energy transformation and cities.
In addition to financial incentives for projects implementing the indicated priorities, the settlement time will be extended – by the end of 2030.
