President sharply on a shot in the windmill act. “The landscape matters more for me”


On Wednesday, the president was asked at a conference in Hague about whether he would be open to signing the amendment to the windmill act, which would be amended on further freezing energy prices in 2025.
On Wednesday, the submission of such an amendment to the draft windmill act was announced by the Minister of the Climate and the Environment Paulina Hennig-Kolska at the Government spokesman Adam Szłapka of the Conference. In the afternoon, during the second reading of the draft novella in the Sejm, a correction was made to freeze electricity prices for households for the fourth quarter of this year.
– I understand that, unfortunately, the prime minister and his colleagues, by throwing such an amendment that is to protect Poles against increases in energy prices, simply tries to force me to sign on this act [na ustawie wiatrakowej]putting me against the wall, but he must remember that I am already finishing my second term – said Andrzej Duda.
The president emphasized that he is not an enthusiast of “such solutions in the windmill act that will cause windmills to tease people, that there will be spoiled landscape in Poland.”
– I am not personally a supporter of windmills. I am in favor of other types of renewable energy. I am not in favor of windmills on land. The landscape matters more for me than to watch standing windmills everywhere. You can agree with me, you can disagree with me. I said it equally loudly during the RBN – he pointed out.
Last week, energy issues as well as the NATO summit in The Hague were discussed at the meeting of the National Security Council convened by the President.
Freezing energy prices
Currently, electricity recipients in households until September 30 They can benefit from a frozen price at PLN 500 per MWH net. In turn, until the end of July, the so -called Executive sellers must submit applications to the President of the Energy Regulatory Office with proposals of tariffs that would apply after September 30.
The tariff of sellers ex officio – PGE Obrót, Enei, Tauron Sales, Energa Obrót and Tauron Sale of GZE – for recipients from the G group, i.e. households, is currently PLN 622.8 per MWH net. Sellers The difference between the tariff price and the freezed state is paid by the state.
The draft amendment to the Act on investments in the field of wind farms and some other acts liberalizes the principles of setting windmills on land. It abolishes the 10H principle introduced in 2016 and provides 500 m as a minimum distance of windmills and buildings. Currently 700 meters.
