The Russian State Duma in final reading adopted a bill, which is proposed to increase to 10 thousand rubles the maximum fine for the driver’s refusal to stop at the request of the police officer, TASS reports.

Now, for the fact that the driver did not fulfill the requirement to stop the police officer, the official of the customs authority or the person exercising control in the field of transport is fined from 500 to 800 rubles. The new law raises this fine to 7-10 thousand rubles. Repeated violation will be punishable by deprivation of rights for up to 6 months and a fine of 10 thousand rubles.

Also in the State Duma approved another multiple increase in the fine for owners of freight transport. If the driver of the car did not pass weight or cargo control, the owner will pay up to 600 thousand rubles.

Also, article 12.21.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the rules of movement of heavy and (or) large -sized vehicles) is supplemented with new parts. Thus, an administrative punishment is introduced for the driver’s failure to fulfill the requirements for passing weight and overall control of the vehicle. Such a violation will threaten a fine for the owner of the vehicle in the amount of 600 thousand rubles.
