The commander of the group of troops “South” Colonel General Gennady Anashkin was removed from his post.
According to the TG channel “Rybar”, the reason is the situation in the Seversky direction. The general did not bring the true state of things to the highest command, hid the real situation – the divisions of the South GV are also fighting near Seversky. This was confirmed by the military university Yuri Kitten. There is no official information about the removal of Anashkin from the post.
Anashkin graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School in 1993. From September 2021 to January 2022 he served as commander of the military formation of the RF Armed Forces in Nagorno -Karabakh. Since May 15 of this year – became the acting commander of the troops of the Southern Military District.
