PSD proposal for the Constitutional Court of Romania

The Social Democratic Party decided on Monday in the Pemenian office who will support for the position of judge at the CCR.

After deciding that he would not give up the position of judge of the Constitutional Court to the USR, the PSD leadership voted on Monday, with ballots, for Mihai Busuioc, the current president of the Court of Accounts.

“I had a meeting to determine who holds the PSD for the position of CCR judge. I gave a vote. It came out to give it to Mihai Busuoic, the current president of the Court of Accounts,” said the interim president of the PSD.

He won with 20 votes. His counter -candidates, Robert Cazanciuc, obtained 9 votes, and Corina Corbu, 3.

Wednesdays will be voted in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies.

Radu Oprea will hold the position of Secretary General of the Government, Grindeanu said after the meeting.

Who is Mihai Busuioc. Old conflict with Grindeanu

Mihai Busuioc has been held by the position of president of the Court of Accounts since October 2017. Previously, he was the Secretary General of the Government, a position to be noticed after he refused to leave when the conflict between Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu (current leader of the PSD) and the PSD led by Liviu Dragnea.

One step to be dismissed from the head of the government, Sorin Grindeanu replaced Busuioc from the position of Secretary General of the Government with Victor Ponta. Busuioc initially refused to counter the order of Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu, which even had his release from office. The conflict between Grindeanu and Dragnea was completed with the dismissal of the Government by censorship motion.

He was considered a close relative of former PSD leader Liviu Dragnea. He was deputy secretary general of the Ministry of Development, during the period when the institution was run Dragnea. After the Ponta government fell in 2015, Busuioc was kept in the technocratic government by this ministry, by Vasile Dîncu.

Previously, he led the National Cadastre Agency (ANCPI), from where he was dismissed by Victor Ponta in 2012.

Busuioc finished the Faculty of Law at Nicolae Titulescu, Bucharest and has postgraduate courses at the National Defense College.
