Armed Forces twice in three days attacked a defense plant in Tula. The company stopped work


According to the media, the attacks occurred on June 18 and 20. As a result, the first of them was damaged by the building of the electrical substation, three warehouses with products and an administrative building. It is also known that a fire occurred at the factory, the fire area reached 400 m².

During the second attack, one of the drones hit the hangar to load finished products, damaging the roof and walls. Astra writes that the enterprise was stopped.

It is noted that JSC “Design Bureau of Instrumentation named after Academician A.G. Shipunov” is one of the largest enterprises of the defense industry of the Russian Federation. The bureau is developing a high-precision managed weapon for the Ground Forces, the Navy of the Russian Federation and the airborne forces, air defense systems, fast-shot guns and military small arms, as well as civil products. It is a member of the High -precision Complex NPO Holding Company of the State Corporation Rostec.

In July 2014, the company was included in the US export list, in February 2020 – to the blocking list of American sanctions. In December 2023, the bureau was added to the list of sanctions of the European Union.



Context

After the full -scale invasion of Russia to Ukraine in February 2022, the Ukrainian army began to massively use drones for reconnaissance and strike at the enemy. Since the beginning of 2024, Ukraine has strengthened attacks on oil and gas facilities in Russia, as well as military facilities.
