The Local Police of Sector 1 will measure every weekend the noise level in the area of the nightclubs, the City Hall announced on Wednesday, in a press release. Targets are especially the clubs and restaurants on the shore of Lake Herastrau.
The checks come after the inhabitants of this area in the north of the capital complained about the glowing parties that stretch until late at night at the terraces and clubs in the Herastrau area.
According to the City Hall's decision, on weekends, local police will measure the noise level with sonometers. “The measurements are made at a distance of 15 meters from the noise source, and the maximum allowed level is 75 decibels. If this limit is exceeded, sanctions are applied according to the legislation in force,” the quoted press release states.
What fines will be applied
The fines for sound pollution reach up to 80,000 lei, depending on the severity and the status of the offender, natural or legal person. In parallel, the disturbance of public peace (strong music, scandals, insults or other noisy behaviors) can be sanctioned with amounts between 200 and 1,500 lei, especially if the facts occur between 22:00 and 08:00.
The City Hall of Sector 1 also specifies that the premises that repeatedly violate the noise rules can remain without authorization. If the sound level exceeds the legal threshold of 75 decibels, measured at 15 meters from the source, the Local Police may request the re -analysis of the operating documentation.
In the case of more than three deviations after 10:00 pm, within six months, the authorities can reduce the local program until 22:00, without prior notification.
If the violations continue, the mayor may decide to suspend the commercial activity for a period between 10 and 30 days or to withdraw the authorization. The non -observance of the decision automatically attracts the annulment of the operating right.
