Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized on Monday that the Polish Army is ready to evacuate Polish citizens from Israel at any time. Poland is a country that looks after its citizens – he declared.

Kosiniak-Kamysz was asked on Monday at a press conference in Warsaw about the evacuation of Polish citizens from Israel, which after Friday's start of attacks for military purposes in Iran is also under Iranian rockets.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that Poland is a country that “looks after its citizens and each of them has the right to feel looked after”. “This is how the Polish government is doing, which is why we are prepared for the evacuation of citizens,” he said.

As Kosiniak-Kamysz reported, on Friday morning decisions were made, according to which the Polish army is to be ready to evacuate Poles from Israel. “I reported this readiness to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday, it was confirmed several times in the following days and it is maintained” – he noted.

“The Polish Army is ready to evacuate Polish citizens at any time, we are just waiting for a signal,” said the head of the Ministry of National Defense. He added that there is already a group of people willing to evacuate, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already outlined its plan.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Henryka Mościcka-Dependys announced on Monday that the evacuation of Poles will apply only to the territory of Israel, not the entire region. As she said, the action requires the transport of a group of Poles first through the border crossing to Amman, and then a plane to Warsaw. The evacuation is to be possible within several dozen hours and will cover about 200 people. (PAP)
