During weeks in a Roman fort located in northern England, archaeologists discovered a large leather shoe, according to Live Science.

The Magna Fort, near Hadrian's wall, in Northumberland, England, is part of the series of forts in Britannia taken by the Roman army. Here archaeologists have discovered several objects that provide new information about what Romanians wore almost 2,000 years ago.

Among the objects found was a leather shoe of impressive size. Its sole measures 32 centimeters – the equivalent of size 48 in men.

“This gives us a very clear image of the way the Roman footwear was made: several layers of leather fixed with belts, seams and nails. The soles were reinforced on the outside for walking and this model is found in several types of footwear. Unfortunately, the area of the fingers is missing, so we can only estimate, so it is only a great shape, so it is only a large size, so the researchers.

Archaeologists say that they will continue to dig in that area and hope, in addition to several items discovered so far, they will find other archaeological treasures, such as construction for almost 2,000 years.
