Romania – Austria 2-1. The “yellow wall” made a show on “Ernst Happel”, the Romanians being very vocal. It all started from Stephansplatz, where the “tricolors” gathered from noon, moving to the Viennese arena. In the stadium, the atmosphere was incandescent, maintained by both groups of supporters.
Ionuț Iordache, the GSP photorePorter, surprised several images with the supporters, noting the massive presence of the ladies in the arena stands that bear the name of one of the greatest coaches in the history of “King sport”, with two champions in Palmares – one with Feyenoord, the other with Hamburg: Ernst Happel.

The stadium was sold-out for the third match in the qualification campaign at the 2026 World Championship. 48,500 was the number of spectators who attended the match. Of these, more than 10,000 were representatives of the “yellow wall”although, officially, only 2700 tickets were distributed to us. In fact, it has become a habit of “tricolors” to have massive support for parties abroad.
In the lawn of Romania, from the southern area of the stadium, several pyrotechnic materials were litat different times of the dispute. Moreover, the ultra groups have “slipped” and a suggestive banner inside the arena: “+ nation, – repression”
On the other hand, the Austrians have prepared a spectacular scenography, along the entire length of the stadium: white-red flags and cartons representing the flag of Austria, the World Cup trophy and 2026, All in a special color, gold.

1998 is the year in which both Romania and Austria last participated in a final tournament.
It is worth noting that although the fans mixed in the stands, sitting on the arm in some sectors, there were no incidents –The organization and behavior of the supporters were impeccable.
