The US Ministry has suspended export licenses allowing for the supply of equipment to Chinese nuclear power plants – the Reuters agency wrote on Friday, citing sources.

Over the past two weeks, sales have also covered other companies in the USA. Amryan -Chinese trade war is no longer reduced to duties, but to limiting mutual supply chains – the agency emphasized.
The Ministry of US Trade or the China Embassy in Washington did not respond to a request for a comment on the suspension of licenses for equipment suppliers to the power plant.
On May 28, a spokesman for the American ministry informed that the ministry has been reviewing exports of strategic significance to China. “In some cases, the Ministry of Trade suspended the applicable export licenses or imposed additional license requirements during the review,” said the spokesman.
American suppliers of nuclear power plants are Westinghouse and Emerson. Companies also refused to comment on the case.
Two sources of the Reuters agency emphasized that restrictions apply to businesses worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Restrictions converge in time with Chinese restrictions on the so -called critical metals that threaten the supply chains of manufacturers around the world, including the American automotive sector.
It is not known whether the Thursday conversation between the leaders of both countries – Donald Trump and Xi Jinping – will affect the restrictions introduced in the US – the agency pointed out.
Trump said that his telephone conversation with China's leader was “very good” and announced that the teams from the USA and China were to meet again to discuss trade issues again. He also informed after the conversation that “there should be no questions about the complexity (issues related to) rare lands.”
The matter of metals of rare lands, which Trump mentioned in the entry, was at the center of the current commercial dispute with the USA and China. Beijing, which controls a large part of the supply chains and processing of these materials, introduced additional restrictions on the export of seven minerals needed in the production of advanced electronics in response to the USA imposed by the US to Chinese goods. Despite the temporary truce in the trade war of both powers, these restrictions remained in force. This led to the irritation of the US President and accusations of breaking a temporary agreement with China.
