The trend for trips to small cities for the New Year and Christmas in Russia is gaining momentum. Demand has grown by 70% compared to 2023. And the share among all directions is from 7.6% to 9.5%.
According to the Center for the Research of Small Cities and Yandex Travels, basically the people choose nature: the sea (more often), mountains (cutter) and so on.
Many directions for the year have become more popular. For example, Shuya (Ivanovo region) – in the top of cities, she broke out 66 positions ahead. Together with her, the Lodein Field in the Leningrad Region (+35 positions) and the Crimean Alupka (+29 positions).
They plan such a vacation now in advance. Judging by the numbers, by the end of November 35% of trips are already planned. In December, there will be still +40%, and only 25% during the holidays. Resting most often travel from million-plus cities (50-60%). Look at the snow, the sun and real Russian winter.
