Hundreds of evacuated people, houses and flooded roads in several counties. Floods make it in Romania

About 400 people from four counties have been preventively evacuated due to floods, in the last 24 hours, representatives of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU) announced.

Military firefighters intervene on Thursday morning in Brasov County, evacuating water from households and houses with motor pumps. Two villages in Covasna County are still threatened by floods, after the heavy rains have covered streets and courtyards. Numerous watercourses are under orange and red flood codes.

IGSU presented the balance sheet after the floods. Thus, in the last 24 hours, the firefighters intervened to remove the water from almost 200 households.

Following the manifestation of the forecasted hydrometeorological phenomena, effects were recorded at the level of 69 localities in 14 counties: Argeş, Bacău, Botosani, Brasov, Buzau, Covasna, Galaţi, Harghita, Iaşi, Neamt, Prahova, Suceava, Vaslui and Vrancea. In these localities it was intervened to remove water from 68 houses, 114 courts, 51 cellars/basements (5 public institutions), 6 house annexes, as well as to remove eight collapsed trees, IGSU informs in a Facebook post.

Also, for the protection of the population the local authorities ordered the preventive evacuation of 375 people from Botoşani, Brasov, Covasna and Vrancea counties.

People from three localities in Covasna were evacuated, as follows: in the locality of Băcel due to the big debts on the Black River, it was acted for the preventive evacuation of 192 people from 110 houses, 91 people were evacuated from 80 houses from Lunca Marcuşului, and from Boroşneu Mare there were 15 people out of four houses.

At the same time, 28 people from three localities in Botosani and 47 people from two localities in Brasov were evacuated. Two other people from Lămoteşti, from Vrancea county, were taken to relatives after the water entered the house and household.

Also, due to the water accumulated on the road between Mădârjac and Bojila, from Iași county, on DJ 282E, a SAJ crew transporting an external patient could not submit. The patient was taken over and transported at home by the equipment of the special transport for personal transport and multiple victims.

IGSU representatives mentioned that in addition to the 375 people evacuated on Wednesday, 21 people from Botosani and Brasov are still evacuated. Also 1,078 people from the localities Ciugheş- Bacău (1,060) and Suppress-Neamt (18) remain road road, but there is pedestrian access with land vehicles. At the same time, in the town of Boroşneu Mare in Covasna, the water is still controlled, through 2 breaches, one made on May 27 and one on May 28, in the defense dam of the Zagon stream, on about 800 ha arable land and pasture.

Road traffic, restricted on several roads

IGSU also reported that the road traffic is restricted on two national roads (DN 2B – Galaţi and DN 13E – Covasna), is blocked on four county roads (DJ 103B – Covasna, DJ 281B – Iaşi, DJ 121G – Covasna and DJ 282E – Iaşi) and was temporarily affected in Braşov 112J. The accumulated alluviums, as well as the trees fallen on the road.

Also, the railway traffic is affected on the CF 300 bus between Predeal and Timişu de Sus stations, due to the terrace of about 50 meters long, and the trains are alternatively on a wire.
