Dan Vîlceanu, sent to court after the aggression in Parliament on Florin Roman

The General Prosecutor's Office sued former deputy Dan Vîlceanu for outrage, abusive behavior and disturbance of public order and peace, after last year he was beaten in Parliament PNL Florin Roman, Agerpres informs.
In May of last year, Florin Roman and Dan Vîlceanu had an altercation in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies and outside the plenary room, Roman claiming that he was physically assaulted.
Vîlceanu was chosen in Parliament on the PNL lists, and at the time of the incident he was unaffected.
Altercation, surprised by rooms

“I lived a moment when I did not think I would ever go to a civilized world. I reproached the non-affidated deputy Dan Vîlceanu the violation of the regulation by his presence in the banks of the PNL group. Subsequently, Florin Roman was the National Institute for Legal Medicine for issuing a forensic certificate and filed a criminal complaint.
The Liberal stated that Vîlceanu had “an extremely strange look” and that he “tried to bite my head cannibal.” Roman stressed that it was an aggression, not a beating.
Deputy Dan Vîlceanu defended himself by saying that “it was not a beating” and that “just taken after the shoulders and led him out of the plenary room” after they had an exchange of replies.
Vîlceanu stated, after the prosecutor's office began the criminal prosecution, that he called his colleague later, and told him that he was ashamed of this incident and that he apologizes.
I was notified by this complaint made by Mr. Florin Roman, my accusations were brought to my notice and at this time I can not give any other details regarding the procedural documents. What I would like to add is that I had a discussion with Florin Roman, in which I told him that I am ashamed of this incident and that, at least for my part of guilt, I apologize and I hope we will reach a face-to-face discussion, like two colleagues, “said Dan Vîlceanu, in July 2024, for News.ro.
The deputy then said that he did not want to remain “with adversity relationships because of politics” and that, from his point of view, things could be solved otherwise: “From my point of view, things could be solved differently, as between two colleagues who know each other very well and who know their families.”
What the prosecutors say
“From the administered evidence it turned out that, on May 21, 2024, 11:15 am, while in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies, in the Parliament Palace, the defendant exercised acts of violence on the injured person, deputy in the Parliament Traumatic injuries, by hitting hard body and scratch, requiring for healing a number of 4-5 days of medical care.
Prosecutors mention that Dan Vîlceanu benefits from parliamentary immunity for political opinions, an aspect regulated by the provisions of art. 20 – 22 of Law no. 96/2006 and art. 72 of the Constitution, but the deputies and senators can be followed and sent to court for facts that are not related to the votes or political opinions expressed in the exercise of the mandate.
The case was sent to trial at the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
