Contrary to public statements of NASK, we did not remove any ads related to political advertising at the request of NASK – said representatives of the finish – the company, which owns, among others Facebook. NASK representatives reported on Wednesday that it was after their intervention that political advertising was blocked that could affect the campaign.

On Wednesday, a scientific and academic computer network (NASK) informed about a possible attempt to interfere in an election campaign – it was about political advertising on Facebook, which could be financed from abroad. ABW was informed about the case. Advertising accounts involved in the campaign in the last seven days have to spend more on political materials than any election committee. A day later, Wirtualna Polska wrote that for political advertisements published on the Internet promoting Rafał Trzaskowski and attacking his competitors, the employee and volunteers of the Akcja Democracy Foundation and that Internet users have been paying attention to these advertising for several weeks, appearing on Facebook for several weeks.

NASK representatives reported on Wednesday that after its intervention the Facebook owner – the company Meta – blocked political ads on the platform that could influence the election campaign in Poland. “This is the result of activities carried out as part of the so -called election umbrella” – added NASK.

On Friday, the representatives of the finish referred to this statement in the statement sent to PAP.

“Contrary to public statements of NASK, We have not deleted any ads related to these pages at the NASK requestbecause they do not break our rules. The ads are displayed as inactive in the advertising library, because the period of this advertising campaign is over. The finish line did not take any action to remove them, “said representatives of the META press office.

On Sunday, May 18, the election of the President of the Republic of Poland will take place. Any second round is scheduled for June 1. (PAP)
