Andrei Cordea Transfer Discussions Confirmed by CFR Cluj Official

Following CFR Cluj’s recent 1-1 draw against Petrolul, Răzvan Zăvăleanu, the judicial administrator’s representative, addressed the situation of player Andrei Cordea.

Zăvăleanu confirmed that negotiations are underway for Cordea’s transfer, noting that the player refused to participate in the recent match due to frustrations over the club’s decision to initially reject an offer.

Ongoing Negotiations for Cordea’s Future

“There are discussions with a team that really wants him. We are still negotiating to see if their proposal aligns with the club’s interests. He is concerned about avoiding serious injuries. I believe he has shown great character during his time at CFR. I understand his circumstances in this context. Personally, I would never have acted this way because, as a contracted player, one should honor their contract. Our decision on whether to leave or stay is based on objective factors related to insolvency procedures and the club’s needs, not on alleged mental issues. We want to help him as he has contributed significantly to the club during difficult times,” said Zăvăleanu during an interview on Digi Sport’s Fotbal Club.

“The debt owed to him exceeds 100,000 euros. Cordea has been a player of character at CFR. He has consistently performed well despite personal challenges. I have great respect for him, even though I have never spoken to him directly. Given his contributions to CFR, we are motivated to facilitate his move to a club where he can earn better. If there is a 550,000 euro offer on the table? I won’t go into specifics. Should everything align with everyone’s desires, CFR’s benefits will be significantly enhanced,” added Răzvan Zăvăleanu.
