Zelensky Outlines Agenda for Upcoming Trilateral Meeting in Abu Dhabi

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed hope that a technical meeting will take place between November 6 and 10. This meeting is intended to pave the way for a trilateral summit among leaders, with the final date pending coordination with the American side.
Zelensky mentioned that the venue for the discussions could be altered due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East, but he urged against frequent rescheduling.
The President believes that one or two rounds of negotiations will suffice to prepare for the leaders’ meeting. He emphasized the urgency of advancing efforts to resolve the conflict, stating, “We need to move this war towards its end, not just prolong it. Our agenda includes a ceasefire in energy, at sea, and the exchange of individuals, including prisoners of war. We must also address the situation of civilians, many of whom are imprisoned in Russia, as well as the return of children. Numerous humanitarian issues require our attention.”
Zelensky noted that territorial matters are paramount for both Russian and American parties, and Ukraine is willing to discuss this issue, but only at the leadership level.
Context
- On October 20, in Oslo, Zelensky held talks with special envoys from U.S. President Donald Trump, discussing security guarantees for Ukraine and proposals for ending the war.
