Alberto Soro Discusses Future at Dinamo Amid Contract Negotiations

Alberto Soro, the 27-year-old Spanish midfielder, has addressed media for the first time regarding his contract status with Dinamo, which is set to expire in the summer of 2027. Since joining the team in 2024, Soro has emerged as one of the club’s standout performers this season.
Initially struggling to adapt to life in Romania, Soro was loaned to Chaves in Portugal’s second division. Eventually, Dinamo and Soro could not agree on a contract termination, allowing him to return and solidify his position as a key player under both former coach Zeljko Kopic and the current coach, Nuno Campos.
Negotiations for Contract Extension: Soro Comments
Recently, Andrei Nicolescu, Dinamo’s president, shared insights about the negotiations for Soro’s contract extension. According to Nicolescu, Soro agrees to the club’s financial offer, but discussions have stalled due to a disagreement over a release clause. Dinamo wants to include a clause worth over one million euros, which Soro’s representatives find unacceptable.
When asked about his future, Soro confirmed that negotiations are ongoing but emphasized that the final decision is not solely in his hands. He mentioned that he would not mind continuing his career outside of Spain.
“My contract expires next summer, and we are in discussions, but so far, we haven’t reached an agreement. I am happy here and feel like an important player in the team, but there are other factors that do not depend on me,” Soro said.
Soro Reflects on His Transformation at Dinamo
The midfielder discussed the challenges he faced after transferring to Dinamo and how he overcame a period of being overlooked in the lineup. He acknowledged that both he and the club had considered parting ways, but the lack of a suitable offer prevented that from happening.
Having remained with Dinamo, Soro worked hard to earn his place in the squad, attributing his success to the trust shown by coach Nuno Campos.
“When I came here, there were many differences compared to what I was used to, including football, daily life, language, and people. At first, it was very difficult, but as I understood how things worked, I integrated as quickly as I could,” he explained.
Soro has made 12 appearances this season for Dinamo, scoring four goals and providing two assists. His valuation stands at one million euros according to Transfermarkt. Previously, he played for Zaragoza, Real Madrid, Granada, Vizela, and Chaves.
“I feel pleasure when I step onto the field. I felt like a footballer in previous years, but now I am more important to the team. The coach trusts me, and that is vital for a player.” – Alberto Soro
