Martin Pascual, a 27-year-old central defender for Dinamo, has named the attacker who impressed him the most during the first 12 rounds of the Superliga. The Spaniard singled out Patrick, a 32-year-old forward from Oțelul Galați, whom he faced at the beginning of the season.
Pascual has emerged as one of the pleasant surprises of the current championship season. He has established himself in Nuno Campos’s squad and has made a notable offensive contribution, scoring five goals in the first 12 matchdays, an impressive tally for a central defender.
Initially regarded as the fourth option for the center-back position, Pascual quickly became a key player for the league leaders, effectively replacing Kennedy Boateng. Furthermore, his monthly salary is reported to be under €10,000.
In a recent interview, the Dinamo defender discussed the fight for playoff qualification and mentioned the opponent who particularly caught his attention this season.

Pascual highlighted Patrick, the Cape Verdean striker from Oțelul Galați, whom he encountered in the third round of the Superliga.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Soro scoring for Dinamo in the 42nd minute and Patrick equalizing in the 66th minute.
The Spaniard explained that he was taken aback by the physical and technical qualities of the Galați forward, particularly since their direct duel occurred early in the season.
“The one who surprised me, I remember, was at the start, against Oțelul. I liked Patrick, I believe that’s the name of their striker. He impressed me a lot and I liked him a lot. He’s a tall, strong forward with quality, and since we were at the beginning of the season… It might be different now, but I remember thinking: ‘Wow, he’s good!’” Pascual stated.
“I believe there is still a long way to go until the playoffs; many changes can happen by then. Teams that are not currently in the top six can rise. Additionally, points will be halved, leading to potential surprises. It’s difficult to predict anything as it is early, but there will surely be changes. Those of us in the top six now might not remain in this configuration during the playoffs,” said Martin Pascual.

Patrick joined Oțelul Galați in the summer of 2025, signing a contract valid for two seasons.
The Cape Verdean striker has become an important piece in the Galați offensive, making 11 appearances in the current Superliga season and scoring four goals.
Prior to his move to Romania, Patrick played in Portugal, featuring for several clubs including Tondela, Farense, Varzim, Chaves, Torreense, and Maritimo.
