Dinamo President Confirms Interest in Young Talent Hunor Batzula

Andrei Nicolescu, the president of Dinamo, has confirmed that the Superliga leaders are monitoring the 18-year-old offensive midfielder Hunor Batzula from Sepsi Sfântu Gheorghe.
Reports from GSP.ro on Sunday highlighted Dinamo’s interest in the player trained by Ovidiu Burcă. However, Laszlo Dioszegi, the owner of Sepsi, responded on Wednesday stating that he does not consider selling the player.
Nicolescu Acknowledges Batzula’s Rising Profile
On Thursday, Nicolescu reiterated that Batzula has captured Dinamo’s attention but clarified that there have been no concrete offers or advanced discussions with Sepsi officials.
He emphasized that Dinamo intends to keep transfer targets private. Nicolescu noted that in recent years, any expressed interest from Dinamo has escalated the situation, prompting other clubs to quickly enter the fray.
“I have noticed him as a player, but we haven’t had any deep discussions about this. I recognized him as a player, but we haven’t made an offer. It’s not necessary to make an offer because in Romania, for the past two years, if Dinamo shows interest in a specific player, everything takes on a different dimension,” Nicolescu stated in an interview on Digi Sport’s “Fotbal Club” program.
Dioszegi Declares Batzula is Not for Sale
In response to inquiries from GSP.ro, Laszlo Dioszegi dismissed any transfer discussions.
“Nothing has been discussed with us, and there are no negotiations, but he is not for sale. He is a young talent with great potential and there’s no question of such a move at this time. He is a promising player, and he’ll likely make it to the senior national team in two years.”
Dioszegi highlighted Batzula’s dual-footed abilities as a significant advantage in Romanian football, asserting, “He is a good kid, a talented young man. We are not considering selling a player of his age right now; that is not on the table.”
