A Russian airstrike targeted a school in Sumy, Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. Reports indicate that six others, including three children, sought medical assistance following the attack, which also affected nearby residential homes.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the incident, stating, “Four KAB bombs struck the city center, directly hitting a school where classes were ongoing. I commend the teachers and school administration: children and staff were in a shelter, allowing for the timely evacuation of approximately 100 people. There was damage in the residential sector as well.”
President Zelensky emphasized that Russian aggression must not go unpunished. He stated, “These Russian terrorists and absolute degenerates are attacking children, schools, and ordinary homes. America, Europe, and all our partners must remember that Russia’s madness will not cease without real pressure. We expect responses to these attacks that go beyond mere words.”
Just two days prior to this incident, Russia had launched airstrikes on Sumy, with one strike hitting a children’s care facility, resulting in two civilian deaths, including a 16-year-old girl.
