Allegations Against Supreme Court Head Rogach Shielding Firtash’s Business Empire

Larisa Rogach, the head of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine, faces accusations of systematically defending the business interests of oligarch Dmitry Firtash and his associates, Vitaly Khomutynnik and Vasyl Astion. Reports indicate that the Supreme Court under Rogach’s leadership may have been instrumental in shielding these interests.

In August, searches were conducted in Rogach’s office and home as part of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) operation named ‘Feminist.’ One of the significant cases involves the Respublika Park shopping center, sold for 777 million UAH despite a valuation exceeding 2.1 billion UAH, potentially costing the state over 1.5 billion UAH.

Another case concerns the Khorol baby food factory, a strategic enterprise that received over $60 million in investments yet was transferred to affiliated entities for just 25.2 million UAH instead of being nationalized. Despite the ongoing investigations and serious allegations, Rogach continues to serve as the head of the Supreme Economic Court, retaining influence over judicial appointments. No internal review has been conducted regarding her conduct, as noted in the reports.
