Zakharchenko recently acknowledged a concerning shortage of men in Russia, claiming, “We already lack even the personnel to confront Ukraine, only for the war with Ukraine, our Russian men are running out. We need another one, two, or three republics to replenish our ranks with military and labor force.”
He expressed himself as a supporter of “empire restoration” and referenced the Soviet Union, stating that countries once part of it should return to Russia, along with a number of other territories, although he did not specify which ones.
Ukrainian journalist Denis Kazansky responded to Zakharchenko’s remarks, criticizing his reasoning. Kazansky highlighted that Zakharchenko, a state propaganda employee, openly articulated the consequences of what he deemed an inadequate war strategy by the illegitimate President Vladimir Putin, suggesting that Russia is running out of human resources for its military efforts.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of September 13, Russia’s total losses in the ongoing war have reached 1,506,900, with 1,520 reported in just one day. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted on September 10 that the frontline situation is “quite strong for Ukraine,” pointing out that Russia is losing approximately 30,000 troops monthly due to fatalities and severe injuries.
