In a recent incident, debris from a drone attack reportedly damaged a residential building in Ryazan and sparked a fire at a local refinery. The specific refinery affected was not disclosed initially.
Monitoring group Exilenova+ reported that a fire broke out at the Ryazan Oil Refinery, showing footage of thick black smoke rising from the site of the attack.
Russian publication Astra confirmed that the Ryazan Oil Refinery, one of the largest in Russia, was under assault. The facility is part of Rosneft and has a processing capacity of approximately 17 million tons of oil annually, producing various products including gasoline, diesel fuel, and aviation kerosene.
The Russian Defense Ministry indicated that, aside from the Ryazan region, drones also targeted other areas, including Belgorod, Bryansk, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Rostov, Saratov, Tambov, Tula, and the Krasnodar region, as well as the temporarily occupied Crimea and waters of the Azov and Black Seas.
This admission suggests that Ukraine is adhering to an agreement to refrain from striking Moscow. Reports from Kyiv indicated that air raid alerts were issued during the night due to drone threats. The Kyiv Regional Military Administration confirmed that drones were detected moving towards the Brovary, Boryspil, Fastiv, Obukhiv, and Bila Tserkva districts.
In the context of ongoing diplomatic efforts, U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to visit Moscow and Kyiv to negotiate a potential peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed Ukraine’s commitment to a ceasefire regarding airstrikes on cities involved in the negotiations, hoping for a reciprocal response from the Kremlin.
