Major Fires Erupt in Sochi Following Drone Attacks on Oil Base

Significant fires broke out in Sochi, Russia, following drone attacks in the area of Sirius, close to the Abkhazia border near the Psou River. Local residents reported the intense blaze, which is impacting a site where the Russian S-300 or S-400 missile defense systems are located, according to various media sources.

The Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ shared footage that purportedly shows the detonation of Ukrainian missiles targeting Russian air defense systems.

Additionally, the drone strikes targeted a Lukoil oil base in the Sochi region, resulting in a substantial fire that has blanketed the city in thick black smoke.

The Defense Forces have previously successfully targeted oil facilities in Sochi.

Videos taken by locals indicate that the fire continued to rage into the morning, showing no signs of being extinguished and instead escalating in intensity.
