Manchester City Targets Iliman Ndiaye After Failed Cody Gakpo Bid

Manchester City is making a decisive move in the transfer market as it seeks to strengthen its squad by targeting Iliman Ndiaye, a 26-year-old winger currently at Everton. This comes after an unsuccessful bid to sign Cody Gakpo, whose transfer to Liverpool was rejected for nearly €100 million.

Now, Manchester City is reportedly ready to offer €80 million for Ndiaye, who had been seen as a likely acquisition for Tottenham just days ago. However, City has presented a more attractive package for both the player and his current club.

Anticipation is building for the deal to be finalized shortly, with Ndiaye expected to undergo a medical examination before officially joining Manchester City. The player appears to favor the move to City over Tottenham, who pursued him after learning that Cody Gakpo was nearing an agreement with City.

Last season, Ndiaye played 32 matches in the Premier League, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists. He is valued at €53 million and has been with Everton since 2024, when they paid €18 million to transfer him from Marseille.

Manchester City has had a remarkable transfer campaign, investing €135 million in Eliot Anderson, €95 million on Ayyoub Bouaddi, €37.5 million for Allan, and €25 million on Mathys Detourbet.
