Michał Sołowow has opted to extend the deadline for licensing payments related to OSGE. According to Rafał Kasprów, the president of OSGE and SGE, “SGE proposed to the other partner, Orlen, the recapitalization of the company or providing financing in the form of loans. Unfortunately, Orlen was unable to take a stance on this matter within the required timeframe.”
Kasprów also noted that OSGE is working on a CfD model for a fleet of 14 BWRX-300 reactors. “This program is significantly larger than the two reactors currently declared by Orlen,” he emphasized.
Orlen, at this stage, has refrained from commenting on the financing of OSGE. The company stated, “At this stage, we do not comment on issues regarding settlements, payment deadlines, or potential ownership decisions related to OSGE,” as reported by wnp.pl.
Meanwhile, OSGE expresses its intent to build the first European SMR reactor in Włocławek. The relationship between Orlen and Michał Sołowow has been tense for several months, with both sides exchanging critical remarks. In May, Orlen’s president, Ireneusz Fąfara, stated that his company’s ambition is for their partner to “earn with us, not on us.”
Sołowow has also voiced harsh criticism regarding the collaboration with the state-owned company, accusing its managers of sluggishness and a lack of genuine interest in the development of small nuclear reactors.
