Ukrainian Forces Strike Russian Tu-95MS Bomber at Engels Air Base

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Ukrainian defense forces successfully targeted a Russian Tu-95MS bomber at the Engels Air Base. “These are the types of aircraft that carry out strikes against Ukraine,” he stated during a briefing.
On the same day, Ukrainian forces also targeted the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery located in the Yaroslavl region, approximately 1,000 kilometers from the frontline. Zelensky emphasized that these actions are part of Ukraine’s justified responses to ongoing Russian attacks, particularly in the Black Sea region.
He commended the precision of the Ukrainian military, underlining the need for Russians to understand the consequences of their invasion. “Russians must feel what their war entails,” he remarked.
According to reports from Russian media outlet Astra, the refinery processes around 15 million tons of oil annually and ranks among the top five oil refineries in Russia. The facility produces a range of products, including Euro-5 standard automotive gasoline and diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, and a variety of lubricants and bitumen.
Images from monitoring public Exilenova+ captured the moment of the attack and subsequent fire at the refinery, emphasizing the ongoing conflicts in the region.
