Inter President Confirms Lautaro Martinez Not for Sale Amid Barcelona Interest

Lautaro Martinez, 29, is in Barcelona’s sights, but Inter Milan’s president, Giuseppe Marotta, has firmly stated that the Argentine international is not for sale.

Having recently returned from vacation after participating in the World Cup, Martinez struggled to make an impact in Inter’s 4-1 victory over Monza last Saturday, being substituted just 54 minutes into the match due to limited training sessions with the team.

Marotta: “We Don’t Want to Part Ways with Lautaro”

With his name linked to Barcelona this summer, Martinez has not commented on the Catalan club’s interest. However, Marotta has made his position clear: “Lautaro is our captain and embodies the current history of Inter. There are no conditions for him to leave the club.

We do not want to part with him in any way or for any reason. Discussions about this should not even be considered,” Marotta stated, indicating that the Milan club has no intention of negotiating the sale of their star player.

Chivu: “I’m Tired of Transfer Market Talk”

Following the speculation, Inter’s coach, Cristi Chivu, expressed his frustration regarding transfer discussions, stating that he is “tired of talking about transfers and departures.”

Chivu emphasized, “I’m tired of the transfer market, especially since I have a group of players who give their all every day. They are eager to be competitive and improve their level, allowing us to focus on our objectives, match by match.

I’m fed up with the transfer market. The president has been very clear about the rumors surrounding some of our players,” said the Romanian coach.

Lautaro Martinez has caught Barcelona’s attention after Atletico Madrid declined to sell Julian Alvarez, their primary target. He is under contract with Inter until 2029 and has consistently expressed his desire to remain with the Italian club, unlike Alvarez.
